The Sedona Arts Center holds a film festival every March, which features independent films from all over. One of the most popular Sedona Arizona events, it's gaining a favorable reputation in film-buff circles as it grows larger and better each year. The Sedona Arts Center has lots of events occurring throughout the year, like concerts and plays. Check out their calendar for these and other cultural events

May

June

June is the month of art and architecture tours of Sedona, Arizona. The Sedona Arts Center also holds its annual show, and local restaurants pool together to offer visitors samples of their fare at Sedona Taste.

July

Sedona, Arizona has its own Fourth of July celebration, small town style, complete with marching bands, fireworks, and great food. July also begins the short mini summer season of the Shakespeare Sedona theater group, which continues into August.

August

Moonlight Madness is a shopper's delight, where shops stay open late and put their stuff out on the sidewalks to tempt strolling shoppers. There are food vendors and live entertainment as well.

September

The Jazz on the Rocks Festival held each year every September is a fantastic Jazz celebration that attracts music lover from all over the world. Jackson Browne hosts the concert, whose procedes go towards scholarships for Native Americans. What better way to mellow out than to listen to top-rated jazz under the stars in the canyons? In September there's also the Fiesta del Tlaquepaque, colorful and fun for everyone.

October

The Sedona Heritage Day Festival is held each October early in the month, and is family-oriented. There are storytellers dressed up in historical costumes ready to entertain, answer questions, and bring the past alive for everyone of all ages. There is also a square dancing portion to the Festival, and the past really comes alive as dancers kick and holler, enticing everyone to have a good time. Don't eat before you go, because you'll want to partake of the barbecue dinner, making the day complete.

Also in October is Sculpture Walk, which has gained prestige and recognition and is put on by Sedona Arts Center. Sedona Arts Center also hosts EcoFest in October, which is a day-long festival of music and art, all with an environmental theme.

November

Sedona Arts Center is still busy in November with their annual Miniature Show. That's followed by Red Rock Fantasy, which opens the Holiday Season with over a million twinkling little lights and displays for visitors to view.

December

Sedona's Festival of Lights is just about the prettiest thing on earth around the Holidays, with thousands of luminaries at Tlaquepaque. Also, from late November to early November, there's more than a million lights illuminating Los Abrigados Resort, and they call it Red Rock Fantasy.

In addition to these Sedona Arizona events, there are numerous smaller events happening on a weekly and monthly basis. One great location to find out about smaller events is the Book Loft, which hosts poetry readings, book signings, and all sorts of lectures on all sorts of topics.
